When You Might Need a Tow
Not every vehicle problem is a towing problem, but plenty are. Here are the situations that most often bring Calgary drivers to us.
Mechanical and starting problems

What flatbed towing is
A flatbed tow truck has a level, hydraulic deck that tilts down to the ground so a vehicle can be winched or driven on and secured for transport. Unlike wheel-lift towing, none of the vehicle's wheels touch the road during the trip — the whole vehicle rides on the deck. All-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles, in particular, can be damaged by having only two wheels towed while the other axle spins unpowered. Flatbed transport avoids that risk entirely, which is a large part of why it's our primary towing method.

How loading works
The truck positions itself in front of or behind the vehicle, then lowers the deck to ground level. The vehicle is winched or driven on, centred, and secured with straps or wheel nets before the deck is raised back to horizontal for transport. It's a slower process than a quick wheel-lift hookup, but it's gentler on the vehicle and safer at highway speed.

When Roadside Assistance Isn't Enough
Roadside assistance handles a lot of common problems right where your vehicle is — a battery boost, a spare tire swap, getting back into a locked car, or enough fuel to reach the nearest station. Some situations go beyond what an on-site fix can solve, though: a battery that won't hold a charge after a boost, a tire that can't be safely changed roadside, or a mechanical issue that needs a shop's attention. When that's the case, towing is simply the next step, and it can be arranged from the same call — you don't need to work out in advance which service applies.
